When Worlds Collide

A deadly obstacle course

About

Every year, over 1 BILLION birds are killed due to window collisions in
North American alone.
During spring and fall migrations, when bird collisions are at their peak, FLAP (Fatal Light Awareness Program) bird rescue patrols head out before sunrise searching city streets for birds that have hit windows.  While FLAP has saved an impressive number of window-collision survivors, many do not survive the impact.  FLAP honours the fallen through an annual emotive and provocative display of the dead birds called "The Layout".

I am not only the photographer, I am also a FLAP volunteer.
